John Fawcett

Born in Iowa in 1953, John attended Iowa State University Veterinary School and was a practicing veterinarian in Pennsylvania for nearly twenty years before becoming a full time artist. He brings this first hand knowledge of animals to life in his work. Whether it is a commissioned piece of one of the Hanover Shoe Farm stallions or a Wyoming cowboy's horse, the response is that it is definitely that horse.  John's broad spectrum of expertise is legendary and his watercolor and oil paintings have been featured at some of the most prestigious western art shows in the country, including the Top 100 in the National Arts for the Parks Show in Jackson, Wyoming; the Buffalo Bill Art Show, the Cheyenne Frontier Days Art Show, the Mountain Oyster Club Art Show and the prestigious Autry National Center's Masters of the American West, where he won the 2006 Watercolor Award. He has done commissioned work for Coors Beer, MacMillian McGraw Hill, and Schaefer Outfitters and his watercolors hang in private and corporate collections around the world.
