In spring, 1996, his painting, "Moon Dancer-Wolves" was voted the favorite piece in the Wild Wings Fall Festival in Lake City, Minnesota. In summer, 1998, his painting "White Hot and Ice Gold" won the People's choice Master Palette award at the "Masterworks in Miniature" show at Gallery One in Mentor, Ohio.  Lee has become a well known painter of wildlife.
