"Beginning with my childhood and continuing to this day, I have had a love affair with lakes, ponds, rivers and streams that borders on obsessive," says artist Lee Stroncek. "These forms of water have provided me with endless hours of pleasure, solitude and solace." A native of Minnesota, Stroncek studied wildlife and fisheries biology at the University of Montana and the University of Alaska, and completed two years of intensive art instruction at Colorado State University. A native of Minnesota, Stroncek studied wildlife and fisheries biology at the University of Montana and the University of Alaska, and completed two years of intensive art instruction at Colorado State University. He has been a full-time artist since 1980 and most frequently paints outdoor-related subjects. His work has appeared in Field & Stream, Southwest Art, Yankee and Gray's Sporting Journal and is in the permanent collection of the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, Wyoming. He resides in Bozeman, Montana with his wife.
