Presently, TD trains and shows his own cutting horses. In 1979, at the urging of his wife, he resigned from his job as a pilot for United Airlines to devote his full time to art. TD's interest in promotion of Texas longhorn cattle, maintenance of a wild horse herd on his ranch, passions for Africa and its wildlife, and concern for conservation of wildlife worldwide have inspired many of his works. Kelsey's art is found in private and public collections worldwide. He is a member of the National Sculpture Society and was honored with one-man shows at the Thomas Gilcrease Museum and the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum.  He is also a member of the prestigious Cowboy Artists of America group. Several monumental sculptures have been placed in both private and public collections. These include "Texas Gold" located in the historic Stock Yards area of Fort Worth, Texas; "Briargate Mustangs" in Colorado Springs, Colorado; "Royal Challenge" for Cabela's in Sidney, Nebraska; "The Plainsman" for the Denver Buffalo Company in Denver, Colorado; "Change of Seasons" and "Swamp Donkey" at the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, Wyoming; "DagaBoys" at the St. Louis Zoo; and "Swamp Donkey" for Loveland, Colorado Benson Park. T. D. Kelsey's work is available in very limited editions making each sculpture a very special piece.
